We planned to go straight to Saigon, but most of the people complained about food. We talked to the guides, who told us they loved American music and TV shows. They watch America’s got talent, and showed us Gangnam style videos. After an hour, they got dropped off, and we realized that we were only at the place where we had originally caught the ferry on the mainland. We could have been back about two hours sooner if not for stops and misunderstandings.
We stopped at nine o’clock for a late dinner, and it was very sketchy. The bathroom was a mess along with the dining area. There were geckos everywhere. Many people were afraid that they would get food poisoning or travelers diarrhea from their pork, because it was not smoking hot. Everyone was fine as far as I knew though.
We got back on the road, and had so many interesting conversations. There were movie and band games, along with riddles. It was so much fun. After six hours, we finally arrived at the ship. It was an amazing site. At 1:30 in the morning, I showered and went to bed by 2:30. It had been a long day of traveling, and it was nice to finally be back.
Included is a picture of the van that all 13 of us fit into on the ride back. For the first hour of the trip, our three guides rode with us, so that 16 people squeezed in! Also, there is a picture of the three guides that helped us get from the island to the mainland.
